If your test needs a special instruction, ask us before you come.
Many blood tests suggest arriving after 8 to 12 hours of fasting. You may drink water. If you take regular medication, ask whether you should pause it.
Blood glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides require fasting. Avoid heavy meals and alcohol the day before so the values are not affected.
Some hormone profiles are preferably taken in the morning, or on a specific day of the cycle. Check the instruction attached to your test.
Requires collecting all urine over a 24-hour period in the container provided, stored as instructed. Pick up the materials beforehand.
Carried out with a responsible adult present. Shorter fasting instructions may apply for babies and small children.
Some tests need preparation or advance arrangement. If in doubt, ask us before you come so the sample does not have to be taken twice.
